A Question of Justice Launch

WHY DON’T WE TALK ABOUT THIS…….

A Question of Justice

Pepe Trevor, is an Australian actress, screenwriter, journalist, author and visual artist, who is perhaps best known for her role as young card sharp and troublemaker, Lexie Patterson in the iconic Australian television drama Prisoner (1985–86).

From the age of 7 Trevor was raised in Melbourne and made a name as an actress in various Australian television series making her acting debut on the Sullivan’s in 1977.

Later in life, Trevor began writing, and won the Dobbie Award in 1997 for her first novel, Listening for Small Sounds and her second novel, Another Man’s Office, which came out in 2000.

As a journalist, Trevor has contributed articles and has a real drive and passion for female rights, well-being and incarceration. Female incarceration in Australia has been a growing concern, with rates rising over the last 15 years to record levels.

Issues such as First Nations overrepresentation, mental health challenges, and domestic violence, are seen by Trevor as symptoms of a system with cruelty at its very core, and have inspired Trevor throughout her life, and more broadly in her art.

Trevor has created a stunning series of 9 images in this series titled “A Question of Justice”, with a number of pieces based on women who were incarcerated at the Geelong Gaol.
